I watched Ally McBeal last night (she's incredibly annoying but the programme massively improves when she's not on screen.) This series has screamed desperation with all the guest stars and stuff but I still end up watching it if there's nowt else on.

The last few episodes have made me depressed rather than irritated. Why? Because they have featured one of my favourite actresses, Chrstina Ricci, who I think is really funny and really sexy. Or at least she was. She's now lost loads of weight and looks awful. The shape of her face has changed, so her eyes are scarily large.

This sounds really shallow of me. Everyone has a right to look as they want. Her ability as an actress is more important than how she looks. Etc, Etc...

But when someone (particularly a woman) suddenly loses a drastic amount of weight, it's hard not to suspect she's been pressured into it, directly or indirectly.

Callista Flockhart has had a lot written about her weight and points out that going on about a woman being too thin is judging her solely on her looks, in the same way as bitching about her being fat. I think she's got a point but when I look at her and Christina, they look like they're so fragile they could shatter into pieces.
