I am Teh Butch! (Kinda)
Jan. 21st, 2007 03:11 pmI am feeling ded proud of myself now.
I just changed the headlight bulb on my car. This amounts to the fourth piece of maintenance I've ever done on that car (and the other three were checking the oil, filling the washer fluid and changing the windscreen wipers). This was serious stuff, involving disconnecting the battery and wrangling with the cars innards. The instructions were pretty minimal and I didn't find the diagram til halfway through.
I was also assisted by Daz :). We both wrangled all the bits until we got the old bulb out and then started on the more complex job of putting it all back in the same place. But we got there in the end.
On the downside, the bulb still doesn't actually work. There are three options - a) I broke the new bulb putting it back in, b) I haven't connected it back together correctly or c) there is some other problem with it.
I'm suspecting b but since it was getting cold and dark, I have left it for now. I'm still claiming it as a half-victory!
