Vaguely bandwagon jumping.
Sep. 25th, 2002 06:33 pm1. Your Live Journal user name and what it means:
Well before I got an LJ, I got an email address Wandering_haggis@... This was due to me being Scottish but living in Manchester. When I started using talkers it was the only nickname I could think of and it followed me here.
2. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest) how well does your Live Journal represent who you actually are?
4 - I don't post enough to make it representative. If you include my comments on other journals and which journals I choose to read, it's probably about 7.
3. How much about your life do you post to Live Journal?
I don't tend to post every-day stuff. I post ideas that are in my head that I want to get out and look at.
4. Is there anything you refuse to post about?
I don't post things that could offend my friends, or that I think other people would be hurt by. If I post that stuff, I make it private.
5. On a scale of 1 to 10 how interesting do you think your own journal is to others?
3. As I said, I don't post enough to give an idea of my life. Also, I post about things in my head - I don't particularly expect people to be interested in my navel-gazing.
6. From who/how did you find out about Live Journal?
I joined SP and armadillo mentioned people had been getting them. I liked the idea as I had had several attempts at keeping a paper diary which were unsuccessful.
7. Has anyone ever joined Live Journal because of you?
My friend Ickle Paul (ikl) did and my friend Ursula nearly did.
8. What proportion of your posts are friends only?
Most of them, which is odd cos I don't particularly write for my friendslist.
9. What is your favorite interest on Live Journal?
Probably vaginas or feminism. I've come across some interesting people by reading communities with those interests. Of mine, I like "flirting with Elke" best as it is something I enjoy and try to do as often as possible, but I don't think anyone else shares it.
10. Has anything on Live Journal ever caused you to establish, rethink, or even change your belief or position on something?
Yes, lots of things. It's reawken my interest in feminism, educated me about my vagina (see the vaginapagina community for details) racism and homeschooling, made me feel much more comfortable about being bi... The list goes on. I enjoy discussing issues with people and although I have strong opinions, I can be persuaded by good arguments.
11. How often do you comment on other people's journals?
I tend to comment much more than I post, I check my friendslist each day if possible.
12. Do you prefer to write in your journal or read other journals?
Read, I'm lazy and also overwhelmed by other people's creativity and willingness to express themselves.
13. Have you ever had something mean said to you or been stalked, harassed, or got into an argument/flame war on Live Journal?
I've been on the edges of some, but I tend to be ultra tactful and have never been flamed.
14. Have you ever banned someone from your journal?
No.
15. Who are your favorite Live Journal friend(s) and why?
It varies. Ahsu is definitely near the top as she posts such interesting things. Firinel inspires and challenges me with her creativity and Marnanel seems one of the genuinely nicest people I know. Sath intrigues and amuses me and I'm getting to know Naath and Chess better which is a GoodThing.
16. How many of your Live Journal friends have you actually met?
13 but most only once/occasionally
17. Of all of the people on Live Journal you know of, who is the most like you?
Not sure. Different people seem like me in different ways.
18. Why are you most likely to add someone to your friends list?
Interesting ideas and enthusiasm. If they seem like they welcome new friends, rather than being cliquey. If I like their journal and want to remember to read it.
19. Do you automatically add friends to your journal if they add you first?
Depends if I know them (from a talker or SP or a community) or if they are a complete stranger.
21. Is your "significant other" on Live Journal?
Yes - fluffyarmadillo ;)
22. Have you ever wanted to meet someone on Live Journal?
Yes - Firinel (who I have now met) and Ahsu.
23. On a scale of 1-10, rate the Live Journal for convenience, usefulness, and coolness factor:
7
24. Who is the cutest girl/guy on Live Journal?
Not sure.
25. Who have you known for at least a year or more from Live Journal?
Most of my friends list.
