LJ help needed

haggisI've got two journals, this one which a lot of my friends read and another, more private one. If anyone makes a comment on one of my posts on that journal, or on a post I've made in a community, I get sent an email. However, I don't get that on this one.
I assume I must have set an option telling them to do this but I can't remember where. It would be useful on this journal to help me keep up with conversations, particularly in communities. Any suggestions?
