I m feeling dead dead proud of myself today. I went to the gym on a Sunday! Unheard of! *giggles*

I've been trying to go to the gym twice a week (Mon or Tues and Friday) after work. I've managed to keep it up which is very unusual for me. However, I've been starting to feel a bit demotivated as I don't seem to be losing weight, which was my main goal.

However, the other day I realised that although I was working out for longer, I was still at the same intensity as a month ago and it had become too easy. So today I pushed myself much harder - taking the machines up a level. I couldn't last as long like that but it felt much more effective. I've read that you should be breathing heavily but not out of breath, which was true for most of my exercising. I took several breaks at each activity but I finished them all at the intensity I had chosen. So I am dead happy with myself.

My major motivation for this is getting ready for the wedding. I want to be slimmer for then but I need to start looking at wedding dresses in the summer. If I change shape too drastically between the fitting and the wedding, the dress won't look right. I want to prove to myself I can do this so I can make a reasonable judgement on how I've changed.

So far I don't seem to be losing weight but a friend has mentioned that I've visibly toned up. I don't see it but it was very encouraging.

Anyway, my new routine is to try and go three times a week (Sun/Tues/Fri) and do exercise at home from a book on the other days. I want to keep pushing on with this. I'm also changing my diet a little - aiming for 4 smaller meal instead of two small and a large dinner, and keeping away from chocolate and crisps and stuff like that. But I've tried diets before and I always find they make me focus more on my body and become less happy. I'm going to make myself a little calender and put stickers on it for all the days I do well. Hopefully, this will help make this routine a positive one, rather than a negative, self-denying one.
