Crochet is a damn fiddly business.  Not enough needles for one thing.  On the plus side, I have sparkly beads to add to it.

ETA - it appears to be working!  My completely anal casting on technique (counting the stitches over and over, inserting stitchmarkers and then counting them all again seems to have resulted in the right number of stitches, which is frankly a miracle.  I normally keep inventing stitches by mistake.

I'll have to show you my fish. Which was made without a pattern and utterly by accident. :-)

I've just got back from a hobbycraft fair in Glasgow (http://www.ichf.co.uk/) and there was a stand on extreme crochet and extreme knitting. It seems you do what you normally do but with huge oversize needles/hooks and multiple strands of yarn. There were these amazing chunky fluffy shawls and throw rugs. I'm just googling for some stuff now. And I don't even knit or crochet. Yet :-)
